Story

On Thursday 7th March 2019, our beautiful Mother/Wife/Nanny lost her battle against Vulvar Cancer. For the last month of her life, Michele was cared for by the incredible Sue Ryder team at the St Johns Hospice in Bedford.

We have been overwhelmed by how amazing the staff at the hospice have been. The doctor's, nurses and staff welcomed the entire family with open arms and were fantastic with Michele's 2 young grandchildren. They worked tirelessly to ensure Michele was pain-free and comfortable. They listened to her wishes/needs and always took them into consideration when making medical decisions. The whole family was shocked to learn and it costs the hospice, £9,000 A DAY to be able to deliver the care they provide to it's patients.

Therefore in support of St Johns hospice and in memory of such an amazing woman, Michele’s children will be taking part in the 10K St Johns Hospice Starlight Walk. The Gang are seriously unfit and this is likely to kill them so please support them by donating to such an amazing cause!

Also If we reach our target then Lily has kindly volunteered Bret to do the walk in a TuTu!!!! So dig deep!!

Michele was diagnosed was Vulvar cancer in February 2018 and at the time, none of the family had never heard of this form of cancer before. Later down the line, it became clear that Michele had been misdiagnosed several times due to the lack of awareness. Should there have been more awareness our story would be very different. The family wants to encourage you all to research Vulvar cancer and please inform all your female friends and relatives. If in doubt, get checked out - don't let our story becomes yours.
